§    As a member of core team, represented Samsung Telecom at Sprint site for LTE network (EPC,RAN,EMS, backhaul) design, configuration, test, troubleshooting and training activities.

§    Defined software/hardware Architecture and Test cases for Subscriber Management, L2-L3 Filtering, GPON TC layer, CAC and DBA mechanisms that helped to reduce system cost by utilizing system resources more efficiently.

§    Invented/Architected several mechanisms in the area of packet processing, traffic management, GPON-L2 / L3 and BPON-ATM L2 internetworking used in Access Networks. Architected several GPON, BPON, L2 and L3  FPGAs used in OLT (Optical Line Termination) system, giving company an edge over competitors and resulting in the capture of major US accounts (Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse).   Architected GPON and BPON line cards and OC3/12 and L2/L3 based Network Interface cards that significantly cut software development costs and enabled feature/flexibility enhancement through upgrades.  

§    Designed OLT and ONT QoS, buffering, VoIP, PON based multicast and traffic management architecture. Introduced several QoS and Traffic Management mechanisms, resulting in the industry’s first fully configurable traffic manager based on context switching hardware mechanism.

§    Led troubleshooting and system verification activities for the escalated customer issues, Prepared White Papers, Customer Presentations. Delivered technical sales and customer support, including responding to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs, to capture business with existing and prospective customers. Negotiated Alcatel requirements with multiple suppliers and played a key role in the selection of major design components.

§    Implemented simulation models using C/C++ and OPNET Modeler Tool for Traffic Analysis, performance & dimensioning, xPON Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation, VoIP, Multicast, IGMP and several hardware configurations which helped to identify potential issues and optimization in early phases of projects.
